The Vietnam Institute for Africa & Middle East Studies (VIAMES) is an institute under the Vietnamese Academy of Social Science, devoted to research on the Middle East and Africa, including especially development in thee regions and the relations of these regions with Vietnam.

The Gulf Research Center and the Vietnam Institute for Africa & Middle East Studies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in pursuit of creating greater national, regional and international awareness on issues pertaining to sustainable development, security and stability in the Gulf region and Vietnam, as well as collaborate and support each other in areas of research relevant to relations between the Gulf region and Vietnam.
